Dr. Jodi
Veterinarian
A New Yorker by birth and upbringing, Dr. Wiktorowski (more commonly known as “Dr. Jodi”) has always been what her family saw as a wee bit animal-crazy. She was always the kid who brought home injured birds and squirrels and anything else that needed care. Dr. Jodi has several border collies and enjoys sheep herding with them as well as taking them hiking. She often loads her dogs and kids into the minivan and heads for whatever random new trailhead they can find.
Jodi is also the Sole owner of Eugene Animal Hospital since 2015!

Dr. Shelby Matsuoka
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Shelby Matsuoka grew up in sunny California with a full house: two parents, a younger sister, and an entire menagerie of furry, fuzzy, and whiskered friends—including three cats, two guinea pigs, seven mice, a hamster, a rat, and a rabbit. Her childhood was a mix of gymnastics routines and Jurassic Park marathons, with a special fondness for the tiniest pets. One of those early experiences, taking a sick mouse to the vet, planted the seed for a future in animal care—though at the time, she had no idea how deep that calling would run.
Originally graduating with a degree in Paleontology, Dr. Shelby realized that animals were much more exciting when they weren’t fossilized. She kicked off her veterinary journey as a receptionist at a nearby clinic, then gained experience at a specialty and emergency hospital before heading north to Oregon. From there, Dr. Shelby worked her way up to Doctor’s Assistant and, with some encouragement (and a little bravery when it came to needles), made the leap to veterinary school. It was at a university career fair that she crossed paths with Anna from Eugene Animal Hospital, and everything just clicked.
Clinically, Dr. Shelby especially loves those lightbulb moments—when a mystery unravels and a pet parent leaves feeling informed and empowered. Preventative care and personalized treatment plans are her jam, and she has a special soft spot for the deep, unspoken bonds between people and their pets. Like the musician cat who picked a violin and the bow to match, Dr. Shelby knows that animals are family—and often the ones running the show (with love, of course).
These days, Dr. Shelby shares her home with her partner and their two very expressive cats: Shuri, the resident goblin baby, and Nutmeg, whose one glorious brain cell is solely devoted to tracking her toy stash. When she’s off-duty, Dr. Shelby can be found curled up with a good book, hiking Oregon trails, crafting intricate chain mail jewelry, or immersed in a D&D campaign. A proud “carbivore,” Dr. Shelby unapologetically avoids salads and leans into the comfort of a good loaf of bread—because saving lives takes energy, and carbs are delicious.
